roger federer ao2010 practice Roger Federer was spotted practicing at the Rod Laver Arena for the first time since his arrival in Melbourne. The Swiss Champion prepared today for his run at edition 2010 of the Australian Open.

The World Number 1 comes into this first Grand Slam event of the season after a rather weak start of the 2010 season. Roger first played in the exibition tournament played on Abu Dhabi. He entered the competition in the semifinal match, but lost his first encounter of the year against, Swede, Robin Soderling.

Federer played his first official tournament of the season in Doha, the Quatar Open. There he managed a flawless run until the semifinals where he lost in straight sets to Nikolay Davydenko, who went on to win the tournament after defeating Rafael Nadal in the final.

This should not worry Roger’s fans though. It’s widely known that the Swiss Champion is surly the best player in the world when it comes to playing important tournaments. Federer always manages to upgrade his game level during a Grand Slam event, no matter what shape he brings into the competition.

Roger played all Grand Slam finals last season and managed to win half of them. The two defeats where at the Australian Open and at the US Open, however they where 5 set losses. There is no sign that Federer will slow the pace in 2010.
