Roger Federer 6-2,7-6 Benjamin Becker Highlights

Roger Federer has started his Madrid Master title defense with a straight sets win in front of young German, Benjamin Becker. The Swiss Champion broker Becker twice in the first set to clinch it with 6-2. However, Federer did not manage to break again in the second part of the match and a tiebreak was played. Fed won in 7-4 and qualified for the 3rd Round.

Federer had a disappointing clay court season until now. He seems to struggle before the French Open. In fact, since his Australian Open success, he failed to produce any other noticeable result.

The Madrid Masters is the 5th Masters Series event of the season and Roger needs to defend his title if he wants to attack the two summer Grand Slams with a comfortable advantage, at the top of the ATP rankings.
