Djokovic first star to hit Melbourne for the AO 2010

djokovic australian open warm-up Novak Djokovic is the first big gun to accommodate in Melbourne. The 2008 Australian Open champion arrived in Australia, 10 days before the first match day.

Novak tries to accommodate as good as possible to the weather conditions currently available in Melbourne. Djokovic wants to avoid last year’s disappointing out of the first Grand Slam event of the season.

In 2009 the Serbian star lost his quarter-final encounter against Andy Roddick. In fact, He pulled out of the match after trailing Roddick by 2-1. Djokovic melted in Melbourne’s sun and failed to defend his title.

The World Number 3 has already hit the practice courts the passed weekend. Djokovic trained at the Rod Laver arena in a solid attempt to avoid last year’s problems. The Serbian used with the rather colder weather conditions from his home country, seems to have problems with Melbourne’s heat, when temperatures hit even 40 degrees Celsius.

Other stars like Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Maria Sharapova, Nikolay Davydenko and Fernando Gonzalez have also arrived this weekend in Melbourne preparing for the 2010 edition of the Australian Open. We will keep you updated as events continue to unveil in Australia.
